History

1929

Toray Films Europe origins come from ”Société Lyonnaise de Soie Artificielle” (SLSA) who was first specialized in artificial silk.

1959-1960

The silk activity is stopped for plastic films production and Cipsco society become La Cellophane.

1968

In 1968, development is increasing with the creation of a workshop of polymerization and then, in 1970, a coating workshop is created.

1979

Breakdown of society La Cellophane for Rhône Poulenc Films and Rhône Poulenc Systèmes.

1984-1985

Launch of PET productions lines dedicated to video and audio tapes

1996

Takeover of Rhône Poulenc Films by Toray which becomes Toray Plastics Europe

Start up of news lines and capabilities: the manufacturing of PET resins and metallised films are integrated. The group invests in a new line dedicated to very low thicknesses

2005-2006

Orientation towards the Ultra-clear films.

2008

Toray Plastics Europe becomes Toray Films Europe

2009

Construction of the OPP workshop.

2010

Beginning of OPP Torayfan® activity.

2012-2013

Investment on T4. Change of automation and electronics.
